Welcome to Gradence. By accessing or using our platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Gradence is an AI-powered assessment and feedback platform designed for educational institutions ("Schools") and educators. We provide tools for grading, analyzing, and generating feedback on student submissions across various formats (text, audio, video).

2. Educational Use & Data Privacy

Our Service is intended for educational purposes. We process student data solely on behalf of the School as a data processor. You acknowledge that:

  • You have the necessary authority or consent to submit student work to the platform.
  • We do not own student submissions; strictly limited rights are granted to us only for the purpose of providing the Service.
  • We prioritize the privacy and security of educational records in alignment with relevant data protection laws.

3. AI Limitations

Our feedback and grading are generated by Artificial Intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI models can make errors ("hallucinations"). The human educator remains the final authority on all grades and feedback. Gradence should be used as a drafting and assistive tool, not a fully autonomous decision-maker.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. Schools are responsible for managing access for their teachers and staff.

5. Intellectual Property

The Gradence platform, including its code, design, and proprietary algorithms, is the property of Gradence IO. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your internal educational operations.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
